A very lovely book if you ask me. Sad. I cry every time I read it. But I find it very comforting in a way as well, simple but profound life lessons that we might consider. The book takes us on a journey between two people who share something so unique, on of those things that make life as beautiful as it is.
In the book we follow conversations between Morrie Schwartz and one of his former students Mitch Albom, described as the final lectures. It is not a book about death, it is far more a book about life.
For this article I connected with an idea from the thirteenth tuesday. The two gentlemen talk about the perfect day. Some 6 years ago, in a period where I had to rebuilt my life from scratch, I asked myself what day to day components make my day a beautiful day. I made a short list of options with the plan to incorporate at least one every day to make my days feel wortwhile again:
- movement or dance
- delicious food
- a nice conversation, in touch with a loved one
- warmth; the sun, a hot water bottle, fire
- something related to nature; a walk, a documentary
- create something (photography, writing)
What does it mean to live well?
What could you do each day to make the day a beautiful day inspite of however it may play out?
Liefs,
Trisha
